NBCU and Boys & Girls Clubs Team Up for 'Merry Minions' Holiday Event
December 06, 2017
To kick off the holiday season and celebrate the home entertainment release of the hit animated film, Despicable Me 3, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) teamed up for a “Merry Minions” holiday program.
The program is intended to engage members of BGCA through Minions-themed holiday activities that promote friendship, teamwork, leadership and creativity.
Participating BGCA clubs in select markets – including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, and more – received “Merry Minions” holiday kits which contain a variety of Despicable Me 3 party, baking and craft items. Members can create Minions-themed ornaments, cookies, decorations, gift items and more. Clubs were also given a gift certificate to purchase additional supplies for their members.
Clubs are encouraged to use the group activities to foster a spirit of cooperation, loyalty, support and bonding, which are central themes to the film. Clubs can also use the “Merry Minions” program to support fundraising initiatives, membership drives, community service activities, parent engagement and more.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Illumination, and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment are committed to helping America's youth shape their futures and celebrate the holiday season through the spirit of giving.
