Telemundo Continues Making History as 2023 Women’s World Cup Kicks Off

Telemundo, the exclusive Spanish-language home of the FIFA Women’s World Cup is already making history with an unprecedented 550 hours of Women’s World Cup TV coverage. The tournament’s USA vs. Vietnam opener topped a record-breaking Women’s World Cup opening week in Spanish-language television as the most watched group stage match in Spanish-language history averaging 1 million viewers across Telemundo and Peacock. The USA’s 3-0 victory over Vietnam was also the most-streamed Women’s World Cup match ever in Hispanic media. 

Telemundo’s unprecedented World Cup line up includes live coverage of all 64 matches, shoulder programming, special features and content packages across Telemundo network and stations, Peacock, Universo and Telemundo App. Hosted by two countries for the first time, the tournament also offers a first-ever expanded schedule of 64 matches across ten stadiums featuring 32 teams, including six Spanish-speaking countries.

Additionally, Telemundo announced that Telemundo Deportes took over the recently announced Al Dia FAST channel and has become available during the tournament.  Telemundo Deportes features world-class sports content and supplement the network’s coverage of the Women’s World Cup with five hours of original content as part of the 24/7 programming lineup. Viewers can access the FAST channel via Peacock.

For the games, there will be unprecedented cross continental coverage with four roaming host teams. Telemundo’s cross-continental footprint will support the network’s all-day programming with a team of more than 350 employees across Australia, New Zealand and in the U.S. with Telemundo Center, the company’s state-of-the-art headquarters in Miami, serving as the main hub.
